November 04, 2011 – Azhar & Azhar Law Firm Secures Termination of Deportation in Dallas Immigration Court

On November 04, 2011 Azhar & Azhar Law Firm secured the termination of our client’s deportation proceedings in Dallas Immigration Court.  Our client, a national of the Ivory Coast, came to the U.S. in January of 2004 as a student on an F-1 visa.  During the course of completing his degree he fell out of F-1 status due to a family emergency, and was immediately referred to immigration court.

In immigration court, the attorneys from Azhar & Azhar Law Firm sought to adjust our client’s status to permanent residency based on his marriage to his U.S. citizen wife, which pre-dated the service of his Notice to Appear, and their US citizen children.  After securing the approval of the I-130 petition, the immigration judge set the case for a trial on the merits for November 04, 2011.

On November 04, 2011 the attorneys from Azhar & Azhar Law Firm sought to terminate our client’s case in immigration court.  The government attorney, however, initially objected to the termination of our client’s case on the grounds that the financial documentation provided on the joint-sponsor’s affidavit of support was insufficient.

After lengthy oral arguments between the judge, the attorneys from Azhar & Azhar Law Firm, and the government prosecutor regarding the apparent deficiencies in the affidavit of support, the judge and government attorney accepted the arguments made by the attorneys from Azhar & Azhar Law Firm and agreed to terminate our client’s case in immigration court.  With no other issues or impediments in our client’s case, he will now be allowed to proceed administratively with his application for permanent residency with USCIS.
