3/7/2011: Sunny conducts Immigration Law presentations at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. Hosted by the OU International Student Services Office, Sunny was invited to speak on US immigration options after graduation and the consular visa interview process. Attached is the flyer.

2/12/2011: Noaman presents at the Citizenship Information Workshop hosted by the Plano Multicultural Outreach Roundtable (MCOR). This is the third year in a row that Azhar & Azhar Law Fim has been invited to participate.

7/28/2010: Sunny is recognized in his precedent setting Board of Immigration Appeals case of Matter of Quilantan, 25 I&N Dec. 285 (BIA 2010), where the court found that “an alien who physically presents herself for questioning and makes no knowing false claim to citizenship is ‘inspected,’ even though she volunteers no information and is asked no questions by the immigration authorities, and that such an alien…” has “made a lawful entry into the United States after inspection and authorization by an immigration officer.” Sunny’s victory was a powerful ruling that allows aliens to be able to adjust their status to that of lawful permanent resident even when they have not received thorough questioning at the border.

4/9/2010: Sunny was asked to speak at a conference titled "Selling Bodies, Stealing Lives: The Global Sex Slavery Crisis in the 21st Century." The conference was hosted by The Women’s Studies Committee of South Texas College. Sunny spoke on the availability of U Visas (victims of certain crimes) and T Visas (victims of trafficking). 4/1/2010: Azhar & Azhar Law Firm would like to welcome the addition of 2 new staff. Marcello Ortega has been hired as a Paralegal. Marcello has extensive immigration experience with one of the largest immigration law firms in Texas. Travis LaGrone has been hired as a Legal Intern. Travis is a National Merit Scholar and has received a full scholarship to the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. Travis assists on asylum, refugee and human rights cases.
